Your Land Won't Clear Itself
If any of these sound familiar, you need a land clearing crew that shows up with real equipment and gets it done right the first time.
Overgrown Land Blocking Development
You have plans for your property, but dense brush, trees, and undergrowth are standing in the way. Nothing moves forward until the land is cleared.
Can't Build Until the Land Is Cleared
Builders, contractors, and inspectors all need a clean pad before they can start. Delays in clearing mean delays in everything else.
Brush and Debris Everywhere
Years of neglect have left your property buried under fallen trees, invasive growth, and accumulated debris that makes the land unusable.
Need It Done Fast and Right
You are on a timeline. Whether it is a construction schedule, a closing date, or a county deadline, you need a crew that can mobilize quickly and deliver.
Complete Land Clearing Services
Hoag Land Services clears land across DeLand and Volusia County: residential lots off SR 44 and US 17-92, agricultural parcels out toward Spring Garden and Barberville, and commercial sites for builders who have bought in DeLand and need the ground ready. Excavators, track loaders, brush cutters, forestry mulchers and stump grinders, all of it run by our own crew.
DeLand ground has its own character. Sandy, well-drained soil across most of the city, saw palmetto and scrub oak that comes back hard if it is mowed rather than grubbed, and low ground toward the St. Johns where the wetland line matters. We clear to the line you want, keep the trees you want kept, and take stumps out below grade so you are not fighting regrowth next season.
Every DeLand job includes debris removal and cleanup. We do not leave burn piles or windrows behind. When we are finished the lot is grubbed, level, and ready for the surveyor, the pad, or the next contractor.

Frequently Asked Questions
Clearing Land in DeLand: What to Expect
Permits come first. Volusia County and the City of DeLand each run their own rules on clearing and tree removal, and which set applies depends on whether your parcel sits inside the city limits or in the unincorporated county. Six inch trunk diameter is the usual trigger, and wetland buffers are never exempt. We work out what your address needs during the site walk and tell you plainly, before a machine moves — the full picture is on our clearing permits page.
Mulch in place, or haul it off. On a lot of DeLand parcels, forestry mulching is the cheaper and tidier answer: vegetation is ground where it stands and left as a mat that holds the sand down until you build. Where you need bare ground for a pad or a pond, we grub and haul instead. We will tell you which one your project actually wants.
Out-of-town builders. A good share of our DeLand site work is for builders who have bought here and do not know anyone local. If that is you, we handle the clearing, the grubbing and the silt fence, and put an ISA Certified Arborist on the tree side so the permit file is clean.
We are in DeLand, DeLeon Springs, Orange City, Lake Helen, Pierson, Seville and Barberville most weeks, and travel further across Volusia, Flagler, Seminole and Lake counties for the right job. Forestry mulching and certified arborist assessments are both in house.
